Oh HOR Emblem Crop

March 21, 2017 marked the first Annual OSRT State Advocacy Day at the Ohio State Capitol. The OSRT team was led by legislative consultant, Paul Kudlak, and consisted of the following members: Lauren Huffman, Lin Hopewell, Kristin Seitz, Emma Palmer, Tiffany Roman, Deb O'Mellan and student Bob Cobb.

The team met face-face with over 12 Representatives, Senators, or their Legislative Aides. The focus of the event was to highlight the medical imaging profession, who are we and what we do. In addition, the team wanted to remind legislators about the important role OSRT has played and continues to play in advancing professional practice that promotes quality patient care for Ohio consumer patients.

Thankfully, there are no current concerns regarding the new State budget nor its affect on the medical imaging profession. It was a great day to be proud and passionate about medical imaging as a profession, and the team felt fortunate to represent OSRT and its membership as they advocated for the profession and all imaging technologists across Ohio. OSRT looks forward to next year and expanding its representative team.
