The OSRT Advocacy committee remains vigilant on current and potential legislation effecting the radiologic technology profession. We work very closely with our legislative liaison who is actively involved at the statehouse investigating potential issues and gives us the ability to prepare prophylactically. Some current potential issues that the advocacy committee are monitoring include:
1. Advanced Practice Provider’s scope of practice in fluoroscopy: We are currently mitigating efforts from this group to step out of their scope of practice including ensuring there is not potential creep of scope for operation, supervision, and/or the interpretation of results.
2. GXMO supervision in urgent care settings: Ensuring that proper supervision is occurring in these settings for patient safety implications.
This spring, the committee is planning an OSRT Advocacy Day at the Ohio Statehouse. To make the best impact, the committee is planning on two different dates: one for house committees and one for senate committees. For now, the OSRT Advocacy Day at the Ohio Statehouse is May 6. Save the date and if you are free plan to join us! Details are forthcoming!
