On Tuesday, October 3, 2017, the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists (OSRT) was present at the State Capitol to provide proponent testimony for Senate Bill 121. As written, the bill would mandate insurers to provide coverage for tomographic mammograms. OSRT President, Emma Palmer, along with OSRT Legislative Consultant, Paul Kudlac, represented OSRT at the hearing and submitted written testimony on behalf of the Society in supportof the bill. OSRT's submitted written testimony was verbally noted at the Senate hearing.The Ohio State Radiological Society (OSRS) also provided extensive testimony explaining the importance of tomography in screening mammography.

There will be a final hearing in the coming weeks. The OSRT's legislative consultant, president and health policy committee will continue to play an active role in supporting this legislation.
