Members of the OSRT Health Policy Committee attended the Ohio Department of Health Radiation Generating Equipment Committee (REC) meeting on Friday April 29, 2016. The committee reviewed public comments associated with the proposed rule changes to the Radiologic Licensure Chapter 3701-72 of the Ohio Administrative Code. As a result, changes were made to the proposed language and will soon be posted again for additional public comment. The OSRT supports the rule changes.
Ryan Smith, OSRT Health Policy Co-Chair attended the Radiation Advisory Council (RAC) meeting on April 15, 2016. The emeeting was convened at the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) in Columbus. There are changes proposed within ODH to dissolve the RAC. The OSRT Health Policy Committee is not in support of dissolving this Council and will be submitting documented support in hopes to keep this important Council active. The REC (mentioned above) is a subcommittee of the RAC and although the RAC could be dissolved, the REC would still remain operational.
Please stay tuned as we anticipate the most current draft of Radiologic Licensure rule changes to be posted again soon for public comment. OSRT's Health Policy Committee will also be posting updates on the status of the decision to dissolve the RAC. Keep up to date by visiting the OSRT Health Policy page.
