Taking their cue from the Greater Dayton Area, a group of imaging professionals in N.W. Ohio planned an event to recognize the contributions and achievements of outstanding individuals in medical imaging and radiation therapy. Nominations in five categories were solicited and reviewed by a selection committee based on previously determined criteria.
To coordinate with National Radiologic Technology Week, the event was held on November 11, 2011 at Owens Community College where attendees enjoyed appetizers and beverages. The keynote speaker was Dr. Murray Howe who entertained and enlightened the audience with a unique history of radiologic technology. Musical entertainment was provided by “Bullfrog Underground”, radiologist Debra Achinger and her husband, Mark. Also, entertaining the crowd was” C Q Quartet”, featuring Kameron Owens, a first-year radiology student with a harmonious mix of songs and jokes.
Nominees’ bios were read and the winners announced in the following categories:
Rookie of the Year: Ed Keveany, R.T. (R)
Clinical Excellence: Renee Farley, R.T. (R)
Educator: Linda Myers, M.Ed, R.T. (R), ASRT, AERS, OSRT

The committee is pleased with the success of the evening and hopes to make this an annual event.
