Zane State College's Radiologic Technology Program Director and Assistant Professor Tricia Leggett, DHEd, R.T. (R) (QM) has been named a National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) award recipient. The award recognizes the best examples of teaching and leadership excellence in institutions of higher education. Medallions and certificates were presented recently to award winners at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, Texas.
Leggett, who recently earned her Doctorate degree, began teaching at Zane State College in 1998 and, although Leggett’s duties as Radiologic Technology Program Director and assistant professor keep her busy, she also works at Dover Orthopaedics, Inc. Maintaining a career outside the classroom enables her to share real-world work experiences with her students.
“I am a staunch advocate that students need to be engaged in active learning,” said Dr. Leggett, who won the award in part because of her commitment to learning and her relationship with students. “The small class sizes at Zane State College enable me to work more independently with students. This helps them improve their critical thinking skills and, ultimately, achieve their dreams of entering the profession of Radiologic Technology.”
OSRT is proud of Dr. Leggett's accomplishments and her service to students and Ohio technologists!
