A Director Is …

The Board of Directors of the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists (Society) shall consist of ten (10) members. Nine (9) members of this Board of Directors shall be elected by a majority vote of the membership. In the event of a tie vote for a final choice, a re-vote shall be taken until one person has a majority vote. The results of the balloting shall be announced at a regular business session of the Society during the annual meeting.

Nominees for election as an OSRT Director must hold active membership in the Society and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists ( ASRT).

All Directors shall be voting members of the Board of Directors and shall continue as a member until termination of his or her tenure as trustee. Each Director shall have one vote.

The elected Directors of the Board shall be divided into three (3) classes of three (3) Directors each and serve staggered three (3) year terms. At each annual meeting of the membership commencing in 1995, trustees shall be elected to succeed the trustees of the class whose terms shall expire in that year. Each Director elected at any time shall hold office until his or her successor is duly elected and shall qualify or until his or her resignation, removal or death.

The elected Directors shall appoint one (1) member to the Board of Directors who must be an individual holding a student membership in the Society. Each appointed Director shall serve a one (1) year term and may not hold an office.

Officers and Elections
The officers of the Society shall be chairperson of the board, president, and president-elect. Officers shall be active members of the Society.

All officers of the Society shall be elected by a majority vote of the Board of Directors, with the exception of the chairperson of the board. In the event of a tie vote, for a final choice, a re-vote shall be taken until one person has a majority vote. The results of the balloting shall be announced in an O.S.R.T. publication.

All officers shall serve a one (1) year term or until their successors have been elected and assumed office. The president shall serve a one (1) year term as chairperson of the board of trustees immediately following his or her term of president.

Duties of Officers
The president shall preside at all meetings of the Society and perform all duties consistent with the office of president. The president shall an ex-officio member of all committee except the nominating committee. The president shall appoint all committees. In the absence of the president, the vice president shall assume the duties of the president.

The chairperson of the board shall serve as an advisor to the president. In the event of a tie vote on any issue before the board, the chairperson shall cast the tie breaking vote.

The recording secretary shall keep minutes of all business meetings and perform all duties that usually and customarily pertain to the office of recording secretary.

Directors, other than the officer positions described above, serve the Board as directed by the president. In some cases, Director s are appointed to serve as committee chairs/co-chairs.
